After reading Kathy’s Quilts cute post on “National Pig Day” on March 1(who ever knew?), I realized there must be many more people who have a pig obsession besides me!
Her pig pattern came from Kelli at Seriously I Think It Needs Stitches, where Kelli shares this Pig Block tutorial. This has motivated me to also have a PIG-GIVE-AWAY.
After reading Kathy’s blog about Pig Day, I started thinking about how many times I have created pig related patterns…
“PIG-CASSO”is one of 12 farm animals named after celebrities in the FARMYARD STARS pattern.
After designing the PIG-ABUNGA wall hanging, I had so many requests for that cute pig that it motivated me to create the PIGGY PILLOW.
I also have a pig in my newest book SEW CUTE AND CLEVER FARM AND FOREST ANIMALS.
In honor of National Pig Day, I am giving away 1 free download of my PIGGY PILLOW pattern. All you have to do for a chance to win this download is leave a comment below. The give-away will end next week on Wednesday, March 11.

When our daughter, whose beloved stuffed pig went everywhere with her, was small, we celebrated National Pig Day with pig cookies and a party for all the stuffed animals. So glad to be reminded of this as I read your blog today. I’d love to have your piggy pillow pattern!

Joan

National pig day!!! What a surprise!! Your piggy pillows look great!!
The pig pillow is really cute!
Oh but these are so sweet. I love the wonkiness of some of them. I am also partial to pigs. Especially cute ones. When I lived on the farm, I rescued a runt from our litter. I kept Squeak in the house in a cardboard box with a towel. Pigs are so smart. When he wanted to go outside and do his business, he would rub his nose up and down the sliding glass door. He had a specific spot to go. Until that is he got too big and started almost shaking the sliding glass door off its sliders. Mom said he had to stay outside. Thank goodness we lived in the desert. He roamed the farm. He thought he was human. When a female pig would get out of her pen and chase after him, he didnt know what to do, so he ran away into the bulls pen. No animal was stupid enough to go there. LOL Finally dad said he had to earn his keep, and he became a boar that was used for many, many litters. When we moved, we sold him to someone we knew would take care of him. He was 600 lbs at that time. Yup I love my pigs. Thank you for the pattern.
Happy Pig Day! Must admit that is a new one to me. Thanks for a chance to win your adorable pig pattern.
I love the pig blocks and projects! I am an old farm girl! I want to make our latest grand, 3 weeks old, a quilt from your newest book!
Super cute pig pillow! I love the idea of a large button for the snout.
All you need is the squeal to make this block complete! Love your pig blocks! A wonderful, creative block as usual. Thank you for sharing them.
Such a cute pig! I love farm yard animals for kids quilts, such a fun way to teach them all sorts of words and actions.
I hesitate to put the eye buttons on a baby quilt. Might be aspirated. But the buttons are what give the critter it’s personality. Do you have any suggestions what could be substituted and look just as cute? Love your farm animals!
Absolutely! Try appliquing eyes with felt, wool, or fabric circles. Or embroidery?
Piggy themed ideas are always so adorable!
I Love your Piggy & Farm Yard Stars projects! Brings a big ‘Happy’ smile to my face as I grew up on a farm, with cows, pigs, horses, chickens, rabbits, dogs & cats! Of course we had chores every morning & night – mine were with the milk cows whilst my sister had the pigs. Thanks for sharing your creativity & incentives to sew with all of us! Keep enjoying the creating.
Love your designs
Very cute
I love all of your designs! They are so cute and can be incorporated into just about anything. Thank you for what you do!
When I was a child we used to bring the baby runt pigs into the house to keep them and bottle feed them until they were big enough to return to the pen. Some of those babies could really squeal!
This little piggy 🐷 went to my sewing room!!!!!
So cute!

Hi Marney,
I have your Barnyard quilt book with a pig. I love that book. This pig is adorable. Thank you. Also, having tried other animal paper piecing, I really appreciate how your patterns are written. The sections fit together beautifully and are much easier to put together.
