Two more adorable pups have been added to my paper pieced dog block collection. Betty sent me photos of her sweet AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERD to inspire me to create this new dog block.
Here is a side by side comparison photo of my block and Betty’s pup.
I love how expressive he turned out! Find the pattern HERE on Etsy.
It was also brought to my attention that I did not have an IRISH SETTER in the collection.
Making an image that has wavy or curly hair is very difficult in paper piecing. It is all an illusion, made from straight seams. I have always loved the beautiful fur on an Irish Setter, and am pretty in love with his soft wavy ears. You can find this cutie HERE on Etsy.

Keep them coming.

Your paper pieced pups are SO ADORABLE! You capture so much personality with each one. I think you did a great job on the Irish setter’s ears, and additional “curls” can be added with quilting texture.
Those dogs are adorable! You certainly nailed that Australian shepherd, and you’re right about the ears on the setter. They’re perfect.
Thanks Ann!
Cute doggies!
Help! I am definitely a dog “sucker.” I’ll have to see what other ones you’ve got out. Maybe I’ll be making another dog quilt. (Says the gal who has made, oh 4 or 5 already!) I’m still working on a winter wall hanging with your Sew Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. Some day soon it will be taking priority and I’ll get it done!
Dogs are so fun!
those are so adorable
Thanks Ann!
So sweet!
Oh wow, both of these doggies are fabulous. Love their facial expressions and those ears of the Irish Setter……just adorable!
Your puppies make me happy! Thanks for sharing with Moving it Forward!
You are so good at designing these! I love the personality each one shows. 🙂
