After spending a relaxing week at my cabin in norther Wisconsin, I was going “looney”. No, not crazy looney… I now have a pair of loons at Morgan Lake. Prior to this, there was only 1 lonely loon every year. Falling asleep every night to that soulful loon’s call was magical. I was motivated to create “Loon on the Lake“.
I will add this to my collection of other northwoods paper pieced animals.
The lumbering bear…
The cute as can be fox…
The grinning wolf…
And the somber moose.
All patterns are available on Etsy and Craftsy, some as single block patterns and some in table runners.

Very cute patterns.
Thank you Joy…and thanks for stopping by!
I love loons. I missed going to Lake Placid this year… always see loons. Your animals are just adorable. What a sweet mix of characters.
Thank you, LeeAnna. I love falliing asleep at the lake to the sound of the loons (and others…coyotes!).
I love your Northwood friends; but most especially the loon! They are magical as is your block.
Thank you, Kathleen. It’s very motivating to hear that!
Love the loon block, as I love all your work. Have enjoyed your tote bag book so much.
Thank You! So glad you are enjoying your paper piecing.
So sweet. What fun patterns.
Thanks, Angela! A pat on the back is always welcome 🙂
I love your loon! Perfect fabrics. How did you get that tiny eye so perfectly round?
The eye is a French knot stitched with white embroidery thread. There are lots of YouTubes that show how to French Knot…or I can share one with you if you like 🙂
Hi Marney, your patterns are just the cutest thing. I’m off to Craftsy to get a few 🙂
Andree, Thanks for the vote of confidence 🙂 So glad you like my patterns.
Adorable loon!
